School/Personal Projects To View

In this part of my website, I have uploaded several school projects from both undergrad and graduate school as well as personal projects from outside of school. Click on each multimedia link to learn more!

As a requirement to graduate with honors, the Unversity of New Hampshire's honors program made every student do a senior thesis within their major. I stuck with my main major, English/Journalism, to do my paper. I wrote an investigative journalism piece on tattoo culture in the 21st century and how have certain jobs adapted their policies and regulations with tattoos in the picture. Click the title above to read more on tattoo history, rules, and thoughts on ink on the skin.

For my multi-media class at Quinnipiac, I expanded my knowledge and reporting use by creating a website for New Haven Doo-Wop. Doo-wop was an extremely popular music genre from the mid-50s to 1964, and several doo-wop groups from New Haven emerged in the mid to late 1950s. Within my website, I explored some of the groups from New Haven and interviewed several people, from drummer Bobby Mapp to one of the most successful online doo-wop radio stations to see how even after all these years, they are keeping the legacy of New Haven doo-wop alive.

As a freshman at UNH, I took a history course called "History of New Hampshire". As for our final project for that class, we all picked a topic related to New Hampshire and had to write an 8-12 page paper. I chose The Stone Chuch, a bar and restaurant that hosts live music as well has a rich history from being a church, a school, and a shoe heel factory. Read my paper to learn the history of the Stone Church and how it has become a New Hampshire staple!

Video Projects are Under "YouTube" Section!!!!

For the month of October 2024, I was able to write a mini-series for my town's paper, The Rare Reminder based out of Rocky Hill, CT. October is Italian American Heritage Month and with myself having a love for Italian culture, I decided to do a mini-series of Italian Americans in Rocky Hill, from how they got there to famous Italian restaurants in the area. (Please note that the article presented is part two of my five-part series).

As a honor student at UNH, I had to dedicate two non-honors class and make them as honors. This meant that I had to do an extra project in those classes on top of the regular work. For my editing class, I looked at how photojournalists edit photos, why they do, and when they know when it is a good time to edit them.
